Once logs are purchased they are stored under water to prevent stain, cracks and other defects. Our logs will remain under water until the day they are sawn. Although Red Oak is our main business, we also saw White Oak, Ash, Walnut, Cherry, Hard Maple, Hickory and Poplar.
After lumber is cut it is then put on sticks to air dry for approximately 3 to 4 months. All 2com and Btr is stored under roof to minimize defect. We maintain approximately 1 million board feet of air-dry inventory. After lumber is dried it is then inspected again for any defects that may have occurred during the drying process.
